Not In Kansas Anymore, George-O!

When disaster strikes a community, as it did Greensburg, Kansas, one expects that the president will offer aid to the recovery effort.

But prior to this, Bush has done everything in his power to prevent aid from reaching American citizens in need due to local natural disaster. For example, The Kansas National Guard only has about 40 percent of the equipment it is allotted available to use in the recovery because much of it is in Iraq.

Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius said Kansas lacked about half of their dump trucks and front loaders necessary for recovery efforts and debris removal. More than 20 percent of its Humvees and 15 of 19 helicopters were sent to Iraq, the governor added. Kansas Emergency Management spokeswoman Sharon Watson said because of the shortage of National Guard equipment, the state was rushing to hire contractors to help clear debris.

To make matters worse, a second deadly tornado hit another area of the state, leaving Gov. Sebelius to lament, “We have the need for National Guard in two different parts of our state now.” Unfortunately, Iraq and Afghanistan have more of them than does Kansas. only about 70 Kansas National Guard troops were available to supplement about 40 troops already in Greensburg.

But there could be another problem facing the Guard in future domestic tragedies. It seems that many of the forces sent to Southwest Asia to plunder petroleum are becoming infected with a potentially-fatal parasitic disease which American doctors rarely see, and thus aren’t prepared to treat. It is possible that a unit could be rotated home, be needed for disaster cleanup, and not have enough people healthy to make much of a difference.

Worse yet, army officers aren’t taking the necessary steps to prevent infections from occuring in their troops. These officers are representatives of the Bush Regime, and this is the sort of responsibility toward those they ripped out of their civilian lives they regularly avoid in their mad quest to dominate the world’s non-renewable energy supplies.

As long as I’m back to bashing Bush, let’s look at the quality of his promise made to Greensburg and to Kansas in general. I wouldn’t give you a copper-zinc sandwich Lincoln coin for it. Take a look at his promise to New Orleans.

According to those Commie pinko radicals over at The National Geographic, New Orleans’ Rebuilt Levees Are “Riddled With Flaws” despite the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers declaring that it had restored New Orleans’ levees and floodwalls to pre-Katrina strength. Several experts have either examined the levees directly, or have had their findings reviewed by other experts, and there isn’t one to defend the Bush administration’s lame effort at preventing a re-occurance of storm-surge flooding, even by a storm much weaker than Katrina.

Your ineptitude and outright falsity are catching up with you, George. According to a new CNN poll, most Americans expect gas prices to reach $4 per gallon this year, and to make matters worse for your “booming” economy, consumers are cutting back on spending. And you might not be able to depend on foreign investors to bail you out.

While the United States appears to be heading into an economic decline, the rest of the world seems unaffected. Conservative economists are reportedly growing apprehensive over the growing costs of the Crusade For Crude.

With your former ally Newt Gingrich advising Republicans to avoid talking about the problems you’ve caused to prevent damaging their electoral prospects, you are on your own. And should the wrath of the people descend upon you due to all of the problems you have caused them, you will know what an F5 tornado feels like.

Maybe the good Christians of Greensburg, KS will still come to your aid anyway after what little you have done for them.
